Chateau Bela

Château Belá is an ancient property owned by the aunt of Valeska Müller, the wife of Egon. The Romans planted the first vines and today Riesling grapes are grown on the hills below the castle and vinified by Miroslav Petrech and Egon Müller, two celebrated winemakers from Germany and the Slovak Republic.

Castle is located in Southern Slovakia wine growing area, near to Slovak-Hungarian border. Château Bela belongs to the Strovo region, which lies in the eastern part of the Southern Slovakia wine growing area.

As of April 1st, 2005, Slovakia has governing wine laws relevant to those of the EU, with the same specifications as Austrian, German and Czech wine laws. The wine varietals are Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their riesling is very fresh and pure with bold flavours of citrus, honeysuckle and fresh herbs. It is refreshingly light in alcohol and beautifully balanced between Dessert, pure aromas and a lively, dry taste. fascinatingly tantalising and enduring, but at the same time very refined, with finesse and elegance.
