In 2012, Mr. Hubert de Boüard de Laforest (Château Angélus) joined forces with Mr. Philippe Nunes, the technical director of his Lalande de Pomerol vineyard, La Fleur de Boüard. With friends, they acquired a 6.6 hectares estate on a clayey and chalky plateau of Saint Sulplice and Cameyrac, as well as on the gravelly clays of Montussan, a perfect terroir for the culture of Merlot. The vines overhang a small river, La Laurence, from which the estate took its name.
Like the great growths from Bordeaux, the cellar benefits from stainless steel temperature-controlled vats and the wines are aged for 16 months in French oak barrels. This joint work is a success awarded by flattering comments from the most famous wine critics.
