Philippe Colin

Philippe Colin is a domaine situated in the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation of Burgundy. Founded in 2004, the domaine cultivates approximately 12 hectares (30 acres) vineyards and boasts an annual production rate of 90,000 bottles per year. The estate was originally part of Domaine Colin-Deléger. This domaine was previously owned by Philippe Colin's parents, but was divided equally between him and his brother Bruno upon their retirement.

The Philippe Colin portfolio of roughly 30 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir-based wines is predominantly devoted to those of Chassagne-Montrachet, with additional offerings from the villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin and Santenay, for example. The domaine makes several premier cru wines from sites in Chassagne-Montrachet, such as Morgeot, and adjoining climats including Puligny, Montagny, Santenay and Maranges. Indeed, the domaine is one of the few in the region to produce a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru wine from the prestigious Les Demoiselles vineyard.

The domaine also produces a Chardonnay from one of the most renowned Grand Crus vineyards of Puligny Montrachet – Chevalier-Montrachet. The Philippe Colin style is for elegance and subtlety rather than weight and power.

In 2014, Philippe Colin also acquired the Topiary Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa's Western Cape.
