Teusner

Teusner Wines is a producer in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia. It makes a range of wines from the main Rhône grape varieties, including Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (Mourvèdre).

The company was formed in 2001 when founders Kym Teusner and Mick Page overheard a conversation in a pub about ripping up a parcel of low-yielding 85-year-old Grenache vines. Teusner and Page offered to pay about three times more that what the growers were currently getting if the vines stayed in the ground. A winemaking business was born from this encounter, and today Teusner Wines is based on relationships with partner growers who own old, well-maintained vineyards. Teusner produces a portfolio of more than 20 different wines from fruit from both the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The leading 'Righteous' range is a trio of varietal Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz with several GSM blends, a Durif and a Cabernet Sauvignon also produced. The range of white wines includes Chardonnay, Semillon, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
